Justice

 "Justice"

Justice is more than a drug dog; she is a symbol of all that is good. As we continue to wage this war on drugs, she is the shining example of a crime fighter. As a trusted, valuable member of the Coeur d'Alene Police Department, Justice works diligently with handler, Officer Craig Buhl, to serve our community by helping with the fight against drugs.

Justice is a two-year old Black Lab and Boxer mix breed. Born in Spokane, Washington, she was originally owned by the Spokane City Police Department. When they lost funding for a handler position, she was donated to the Canine Training School at McNeil Island Correctional Facility in Steilacoom, Washington.

Officer Buhl was sent to Canine Training School in March of 2002 with the understanding he would return with a drug dog. Justice became his partner, and together they completed the six-week training course in Narcotic Dog Handling.

Justice is able to detect marijuana, black tar heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and crack cocaine. She began work with the Coeur d'Alene Police Department on May 27, 2002. Justice and Officer Buhl are certified as a Narcotics K-9 Team in both Idaho and Washington.
