Our volunteers serve a very important role in the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, and we are very grateful for their contributions. For example, volunteer efforts free up more officers for criminal investigations and patrol related duties. Joining the Coeur d’Alene Police Department as a civilian volunteer is a meaningful way of providing community service. We currently have 32 volunteers serving in our Investigations, Patrol, Records, Crime Analysis, Community Relations Unit and our newly formed C.O.P.’s (Citizens On Patrol) Program. Mr. Connally began as a volunteer in the Investigations Unit of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department in 1993. In 2004 the police department created a police volunteer unit and he was appointed our first Volunteer Coordinator.  Mr. Connally is a retired Major of the US Army. His background includes a career with both the Sheriffs Department and Superior Court in Los Angeles County, California.  Should you have any questions regarding the volunteer program, please feel free to contact Sergeant

Christie Wood at 769-2360 or Mr. Connally at the Coeur d’Alene Police Department: (208) 666-5732.
